Mabledon House

Mabledon house is astonishing. The kind of property which would have floods of visitors if it belonged to the National Trust, but instead is open just one day a year during the Open House weekends.

Book ahead next year to get into this, the childhood home of Decimus Burton, the architect of many of the finest old buildings in town such as Trinity and the Calverley Park.

I make no apologies for including one of my biggest sets of pictures. The grounds, the slightly crumbling exterior and the wonderful furnishings are all beautiful:

  1. Really nice photos capturing the atmosphere of the place. I would be interested in knowing more about your work, especially in view of the fact that I am currently setting up a national Decimus Burton Society that may be of interest to you. Perhaps you could get in touch.
